Choose a film and post what you believe is its overarching theme.

Watch the video, “How to Find a Theme,” which demonstrates how film can be analyzed in the same way as a short story. In the context of this course, both are texts—works that we can analyze and from which we try to interpret meaning.

For this discussion, choose a film and post what you believe is its overarching theme.

  • Explain why this theme seems significant.
  • Provide examples or moments from the movie that demonstrate the theme.
  • Provide the MLA citation for the film.  List films by their title. Include the name of the director, the film studio or distributor, and the release year. If relevant, list performer names after the director’s name.
