Critical thinking and creativity

If we are to be critical thinkers, we need to go beyond out cultural assumptions, the opinions of unqualified experts and our own set of personal beliefs and ask what the authoritative, empirical and rational evidence presents to us about what creativity is. When we do this, we discover that “a scientific explanation of creativity requires us to look critically at our cultural assumptions about how creativity works, and scientific studies of creativity fail to support our most cherished beliefs about creativity” (Sawyer 2006, p33). Discuss citing real life examples.
